We’re delighted to share the news that the 24th winner of ADE’s annual Demolition competition is the track Stardom with vocals by the Latvian singer ANNNA, and composed by ANNNA herself (Anna Perkone), August Blichert Friis and Bruno Verhaar.
Winner

In a nail-biting session, for the first time in many years this came down to a tiebreaker, with the judges having to make a final choice between "Stardom" and the moody, dubstep-influenced track from Bastiaan van Vuuren, Axyl and Alba Reed, but in the final count it was a clear decision for Ellie among the whole panel.

The panel consisted of Eli Iwasa from Brazil, Italian artist and old hand of Demolition judging Joseph Capriati, Kristin Velvet from Denmark, the Netherlands’ own Mike Mago and the NYC living legend Todd Terry. They heard songs spanning bouncy electronics, sunshine Balearic, no-nonsense techno, eerie underwater goth atmospheres, dark big room techno, some seriously banging trance, and a surprisingly large amount of alt-R&B, mutant pop and downtempo electronic songs, including the two front runners.

This prize is not just an honour: the winners walked away with 3 nights at W Barcelona with access to the Sound Suite studio at W Barcelona plus a KLM flight to Barcelona, Sound Suite Ableton, Live 10 SUITE, an ADE Pass for our 25th anniversary edition in 2020, KRK Rokit RP5 G4, Moog DFAM, Native Instruments Komplete, Kontrol M32, Pioneer DJ Toraiz Squid and a Roland MC-707 Groovebox… It seemed a popular choice with the crowd too, and we strongly suspect ANNNA has an extremely bright future.
