The conference track for hip-hop, bass and beats returns to Melkweg for a special anniversary edition on Friday October 18th.

After recent news about 100 years of electronic music instruments, we are delighted to announce that ADE Beats is preparing a special anniversary edition.

The international Beats platform started out in Rotterdam ten years ago as an initiative of the Rotterdam city council, Buma Cultuur and urban venue De Nieuwe Oogst and joined forces with Amsterdam Dance Event in 2015. In Amsterdam the mission became to celebrate and push forward the global success of hip-hop, bass and beats, from Atlanta to Mumbai, from afrobeats to urban latin. “Hip-hop, bass and beats are worldwide,” says co-director, Saul van Stapele. “And that is exactly what our conference reflects – a truly international perspective.”

With its inspiring Q&A’s, networking sessions, master classes and panels about upcoming hip-hop markets, business opportunities and global trends, ADE Beats has become the place to be for a full update on the state of hip-hop, bass and beats worldwide. The past decade inspiring speakers from all over the globe visited the Beats platform to share their insider knowledge about creating an international career as a hip-hop, bass and beats artist, and talk in-depth about their work in recording studio’s, industry board rooms, music venues and festivals.

Industry talks at Beats were given by key figures like Rigo ‘Riggs’ Morales (VP of A&R Atlantic, US), Dave Free (president Top Dawg Entertainment, US), Paul Devro (creative director Mad Decent, US), Khady Thiam Gueye (founder TMW Worldwide, US), Leila Fataar (founder Platform13, SA), Adel Kaddar (manager MHD, FR), Julian Gupta (splash!, DE), Kamal Bankay (Dream Weekend, JM), Steve Lobel (We Working, US), Joy Singh (Raasta, IN), Affro (Hip Hop Kemp, CZ), Lee Lam (Piu Piu Records, VN), Romain Bilharz (CEO Universal Music Africa, FR), Rob Stone (CEO The FADER/Cornerstone, US), Kees de Koning (Top Notch, NL), Ghazi Shami (CEO Empire, US), Alex Gallardo (VP of A&R Sony Latin, US), Carl Chery (Spotify, US), Ayush Arora (UnMute, IN), Abe Batshon (CEO BeatStars, US), Shanti Das (SilenceTheShame, US), Alex Boateng (A&R/Head of Urban Division, Island UK), Charles Chu (Revival, FR), Steve Bartels (CEO Def Jam, US), Bruce Carbone (A&R Def Jam/G.O.O.D.
