The Rough Guide Through ADE Thursday

To lead you through our extensive program and make you ADE ready we'll share a number of daily highlights.

Listen, learn and get inspired by the pro's
The second day of our conference marks, next to an extensive ADE Pro program, the return of ADE TECH to DeLaMar theater. The track that is focussed on technology in the music and events space, co-curated by Paylogic, sees a discussion between three elite design studios working with some of the biggest and best-known festivals and live acts that will reveal what the future of live fan engagement will look like in Designing the Future Fan Experience panel. Next to this ADE TECH will be putting the very best new ideas and innovations relating to the music industry in the spotlight at Companies 2 Watch. The winner of the C2W competition will be monitored, supported and promoted for an entire year up until ADE 2020. The jury exists of Diego Farias (Amuse - last year's winner), Suzy Ryoo (Q&A) and Werner Vogels (Amazon). So, keep your eye on our live feed to find out who will be crowned as the winner today.

As part of ADE Sound Lab, in addition to De Brakke Grond, Compagnietheater is opening its doors today to host two additional Gear test Labs with gear from Allen&Heath, Loopcloud, Roli and much more. Also, find Moog’s Psychedelic Synthesizer Sanctuary and various keynotes and panels including Studio XL sessions with San Holo and Reinier Zonneveld. The presentation of the Pentacle is a powerful high fidelity mobile speaker system consisting of 15 self-designed loudspeakers and 3 self-designed subwoofers by STEIM and should not be missed. In the studio, the electronic music legends Chip E & Joe Smooth are sharing their knowledge, tips and tricks. Also, Sound Labs' new program addition Beat clinic kicks off by inviting Headhunterz to give constructive feedback on finished tracks that fans have submitted. And don't forget to attend the Algorave in the evening.

At the Generator Hostel, ADE University continues with panels like Learn From My Mistakes with Duncan Stutterheim who made his mark as the frontman of ID&T – the organization that fathered world-renowned events like Thunderdome, Mysteryland, and Sensation. The conference track will also introduce you to the Team behind Cocoon. The DGTL: From Amsterdam to the Globe panel is focussed on the experiences of working in Chile - looking at cultural and business practice differences, and the challenges of working across timezones. In addition, the rise of VR Raving with Sansar & Monstercat zooms in on how an industry-leading partnership came to be, and you'll get the chance to experience the first, fully immersive virtual world for gaming and live music for yourself.

Furthermore, ADE Guesthouse hosts French Electronic Lab at De Balie, as part of ADE’s country focus program. Get in the know about France and the French scene, with a range of activities focused on the country, in both the festival and the conference program. The schedule sees keynotes on how to work with the French market and focuses on French Institutions, Clubs & Festivals and Booking & Management Agencies.

Your daily dose of culture
ADE Thursday's culture program consists of a lot more than what the conference tracks have to offer. Art, film, music, and meditation are all themes presented on Day 2 of ADE. With that note, the first ADE X Foam exhibition by Boris Postma is up at the Compagnietheater. The exhibition brings together a selection of photographs from Postma's series Planet Core, in which he captures the unique aesthetic of one of the most original subcultures of recent decades: Gabber.

At Het HEM Vincent de Belleval and Nicolás Jaar will premiere their new installation consisting of 10 rotating parabolas, reflectors that capture and emit sound and light. An ever-changing environment of interlinked reflections and feedback chains not to be missed. Other must-visits are the Beats Movie preview at Studio/K that dives to the UK's illegal party scene in the mid-'90s and the BODY DROP at VLLA where ICK Amsterdam joins forces with ADE to create a program where choreographers and DJ’s come together to explore the intersection of their practices. This year’s theme is inspired by the moment the beat kicks in - the Drop. At ADE Zen Space your are able to join Circle of Live, a chapter in the evolution of the project: “In Dreams” sleeping concert series. The intention behind these all-night, improvised, live ambient performances is to explore the full range of mind states occurring between sleep and consciousness, in the context of a shared collective experience.

For All Who Love.. ADE Foundation is giving special attention to: lesbians, homosexuals, bisexuals, transgenders, and intersex apart from any religion, view of life, appearance, physical disability, race, mental disability or political beliefs. During the day, they invite the most inspiring queer voices to share their views on queer representation in nightlife.
