It's no hyperbole at all to say it's a gigantic honour to have Chip E and Joe Smooth sharing their studio knowledge with us at ADE. These two are true dance music aristocracy, both from the original generation of Chicago house producers who literally changed the world. And they really were there rightat the beginning: JoeSmooth has been a DJ since 1983 and was a foundational resident at Chicago institution the Smart Bar (still going today), and Chip E even originated the term “jacking” in his 1985 “Time to Jack”. But neither have ever rested on their laurels. Chip E continues to be an influential producer (nicknamed “The Architect” for his precise and elegant structures) and DJ (playing at everywhere from Ultra on down) – while Joe Smooth has worked with everyone from Whitney Houston to Benny Benassi, New Order to Sisqo, and is an industry powerhouse on the business side as well as musically. Together for this session, they'll be bringing these decades of experience to bear on demonstrating the fundamentals of house, rhythmically, harmonically and emotionally.
Registration for this workshop is only possible with an ADE Sound Lab wristband.
