The Sound That Sells the Story: Electronic Music in Film Trailers

Speaker: Jacob Wiltshire

Electronic music production has become an integral part of film trailers - shaping emotion, building tension, creating worlds, and helping stories connect with audiences. But how has that sound evolved, and what role do music and sound play in how a trailer comes together today? Through a selection of trailer examples and of composers' work featuring original electronic music, we will explore the evolution of genres and production, and the creative relationship between music and images.
