4D | Surround Sound : A Fad or The Future?
Speakers: Watse De Jong, Salvador Breed (4DSOUND, Co-founder), Merel van Helsdingen (Nxt Museum, Founder), Richard Burki (Future Phonic Studios, Founder & Creative Director)
Moderator: Dave Clarke
We have lived with stereo for decades, it is also the predominant delivery system in night clubs and our media players and music files are coded in it, but 4d sound has also been around in specific locations for a while and surround sound has gone from cinemas and home entertainment systems to cars and even headphones. Will it ever crossover into clubland? Could we be in a world where all music is made in surround sound as the first choice of format or is it a fad to sell more speakers to studios and consumers and a yet another repackaging ploy like 3d tv screens? Please join our esteemed guests in mono on one microphone each as we discuss where all this could go.
