Chicago Museum Of House: Legacy, Education, Accessibility, and the future of Chicago House.

The panel brings together three iconic figures — Joe Smooth, Chicago’s “First Lady” Chris Henderson-Hutchinson, and “Sweet Georgie” George Jackson — to discuss how Chicago can reclaim its role as the birthplace and heartbeat of house music. This engaging conversation explores the genre’s rich history, its global influence, and the need to strengthen community ties within the city. The panel highlights current challenges, including the lack of infrastructure and accessibility in the house music scene, and proposes solutions through education, mentorship, and inclusive programs.

By creating an ecosystem that welcomes all, the Chicago Museum of House aims to empower future generations of artists and fans alike. Together, these pioneers envision a Chicago where house music is not just remembered — but celebrated, lived, and shared by the entire community.

Breaking Even and Beyond: Strategies for Independent Labels in Today’s Music Market
Moderated by Oliver Bernstein, CEO of Leipzig-based Inch By Inch Distribution, the discussion will examine the realities of vinyl production and distribution, the role of digital platforms like Spotify, and the impact of promotional channels ranging from club promo to social media. With panelists including label owners, promo agencies, record shop representatives, and distributors, the session offers a 360-degree perspective on how independent labels can position their releases in the market effectively.

Independent record labels are often driven by passion and creativity—but how can they also achieve financial sustainability in an increasingly complex music landscape? This panel at Amsterdam Dance Event brings together voices from across the industry to explore practical strategies for independent labels to move from break-even to profit.

Whether you’re running a label, releasing your first record, or simply curious about the business behind the beats, this talk will provide valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities of today’s independent music economy.

Grassroots to Global — The Power of Free Events and Cultural Exchange
Moderated by Angie Lindner from Detroit Techno Militia

This panel explores how free, community-driven music events can become catalysts for cultural exchange and collaboration across borders. Independent organizers and artists worldwide are proving that meaningful connection and artistic impact don’t depend on big budgets or corporate sponsorships, they start with shared values, mutual support, and accessibility for everyone.

Through real-world examples of artist exchanges, collaborative festivals, and grassroots partnerships, this session highlights how music communities can build authentic bridges between cities and cultures, uniting people through rhythm, creativity, and shared purpose.

Yes, the Pro Pass grants you access to all ADE official festival events. Even if a festival event is sold out, you can still access the event with your ADE Pro Pass wristband. During ADE there are over 500 festival events and hundreds more cultural and conference events you can enter with the wristband. One thing to keep in mind is that there is a limited capacity that each venue can take into account for ADE Pro wristband holders. This means that, for some of the more crowded events, you have to arrive early to ensure attendance. Once capacity is reached, ADE Pro holders will be let into the event on a one in-one-out basis.
