The old model of steady rollout and organic discovery has given way to a faster, noisier toolkit built around manufacturing the appearance of buzz before an audience has actually formed. This session takes a helicopter view of how marketing is adapting to the realities of today's music industry, and the challenges it's likely to face next. Our speakers unpack how labels and independent artists are actually using these tactics differently, where the line sits between smart amplification and manufactured hype, and what it means for artists trying to build something real underneath the noise. As these tactics become more visible — and audiences grow sharper at spotting them — the session asks a harder question: is the industry building marketing strategies that can survive that shift, or just chasing the next trick before the last one wears out?
