MR. SKIN (IT)
Francesco, known professionally as Mr. Skin, is an Italian DJ, producer, and music industry professional born in 1982 in Catania. His journey is deeply rooted in the club culture of the late ’90s, where his passion for electronic music began at a young age, closely observing DJs rather than dancing, fascinated by their control over the crowd and sound.
He officially started his DJ career in 1998, moving quickly from private parties to club performances. Early in his career, he became a resident DJ in three clubs in Catania, building strong technical skills and a deep understanding of dancefloor dynamics. His musical influences are rooted in house music pioneers such as Marshall Jefferson, Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, and Roger Sanchez.
Over the years, he expanded his activity across Italy, performing in cities like Bologna and building a solid network within the electronic music industry. A key chapter of his career was the D BEAT project, through which he developed his production skills and gained deeper insight into the music business.
In 2018, he officially began producing music, shaping a sound focused on groove, energy, and club functionality.
In 2022, he joined Trax Records as a Global A&R, a role he held until August 2025. During this time, he signed around 150 new artists, contributing significantly to the label’s artistic renewal and helping bridge its historic legacy with a modern, club-oriented sound. He also contributed to the label’s 40th anniversary project, which received a Grammy Awards nomination, marking a major milestone in his career.
He currently works as A&R forDJ International Records, continuing to play a key role in shaping the direction of one of the most iconic labels in house music history. In 2023, he became co-owner and label manager of Loose Monkey Records, further expanding his influence in the industry.
Between 2020 and 2021, he established a collaboration with Crop of Music Radio, where he also launched his radio show “House Under Skin”, showcasing his musical vision and curated selections.
As a DJ, Mister Skin has performed both nationally and internationally. He made his Ibiza debut in 2021 at Bora Bora, followed by his first appearance at the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) in 2022, and performances in Barcelona starting from 2023. Over time, he has built strong relationships with respected artists across the global electronic scene.
Today, Mr. Skin represents a complete figure in the music industry, combining artistry, A&R expertise, and entrepreneurial vision, with a mission to support new talent and push forward the evolution of electronic music worldwide.
