Josh Parkinson (GB)

Josh first got the taste for music when he was given a mixer at the age of 13. Not really knowing what to do with the thing he wired 2 ghetto blasters to it, bought a £5 mic from Argos and attempted the most out of tune recreation of a one nation tape pack you could have heard. At age 15 he was resident DJ at a local bar but MC'ing was his passion for a few years to come. The driving force in pushing Josh to create his own productions was the frustration of not being able to find producers to provide him with original tracks to record on. At age 24 the money to buy his studio had arose from a very random and unlikely source. He had won the game show Total Wipeout, and with the winnings spent it all on production equipment. From then on Josh’s versatile mix of music has taken him all over the world and to a wide variety of shows. From private members clubs The Box, Annabel’s and The Groucho Club all the way to underground sets at Fabric and Motion. Josh has made appearances at Festivals such as Secret Garden Party, The Isle of Wight Festival and We Are FSTVL and toured around the Alps with various brands playing at the infamous Folie Douce in Val D’isere and Val Thorens. Having been the MC and hype man under a different alias JDP, for other high profile DJ's, Josh has proven that he knows how to work a crowd. His sets are one of very few that can combine DJ’ing and MC’ing all whilst he is dropping his own production. Josh was also taken on Example's UK tour for a few dates to host for supporting act Delta Heavy. 2016 saw Josh’s hotly tipped summer tune ‘No More’ (Featured on the 2016 Ministry of Sound Annual) gathering combined plays of over 5 Million and counting. Both this and other remixes have been a regular on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Kiss FM and Capital FM as well as sitting comfortably in the Shazam charts until reaching Number 11 on the Shazam UK dance chart. He has now turned his own hand to radio and has secured a slot on London's longest running house music station Select FM where you can catch him every Friday 12-2pm. As a model, looked after by Select Model Management, Josh has had the opportunity to feature in dozens of magazines including GQ, Esquire and Vogue and has worked with some of the biggest fashion designers in the world such as Prada, D&G and Calvin Klein.
