Raiany Sinara (BR)

Raiany Sinara is a Brazilian artist, music and cultural producer, DJ, and composer born in the countryside of Mato Grosso do Sul and currently based in Rio de Janeiro. Her practice investigates sonic connections through the intersection of rhythms, genres, and the diverse cultural and racial histories of Brazil, with a particular focus on hybrid forms as expressions of resistance and cultural resilience.

Her work combines synthesizers, samples, and field recordings of natural environments, creating points of connection and friction between the past, present, and future, as well as between the organic and the synthetic. Her performances bring together electronic and organic elements, exploring experimentation and improvisation while creating unique environments through live performance.

In November 2025, Raiany presented an original live set at the 32nd Bienal de São Paulo. In 2024, she received the Seed Award from the Dutch Prince Claus Fund and was an artist-in-residence at the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro (MAM Rio) and R.S.J. Agroarte.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she produced and directed digital music content designed to support artists financially and sustain the circulation of their work at a time when live performances were suspended.

Raiany has been active in Brazil's hip-hop scene for nine years, working alongside influential artists such as Brisa Flow, Lurdez da Luz, and Kmilla CDD. She first entered the world of music production through Beat Brasilis, a weekly gathering of beatmakers in São Paulo, and has since developed a practice rooted in the dialogue between electronic music, hip-hop, experimentation, and live performance.
