Holly Dicker (GB)

Holly Dicker is a journalist, radio presenter, moderator and hardcore researcher with 10+ years music industry experience working for record labels, clubs and festivals in Berlin, the UK and Rotterdam. She has bylines in The Wire, The Guardian, Mixmag, Electronic Beats, DJ Mag and Resident Advisor. Her specialist subject is hardcore music history and Dutch gabber subculture. She has hosted panel debates about the gabber revival and women in hardcore, authored long form pieces about historic hardcore institutions like Tresor and Thunderdome, and was commissioned in 2020 by The Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision to curate the online multimedia exhibition “A Brief History of Gabber” for Google Arts & Culture. Her writing features in club culture books in the UK and the Netherlands, including Mixmag's Destination Dancefloor and Geen dag zonder nacht. She is currently working on a book about the social history of hardcore for Velocity Press.
