Bea Alonso Te, better known as Butta B, isn’t one to take artistry lightly. Born and bred in the city of Bacolod, she’s no stranger to an immersive and festive early life. So much so that when she decided to move to Manila in 2011, there was no stopping her from soaking all the culture in—and eventually, carving her very own corner that would catapult her at the forefront of the local and global rnb and hip-hop industry.

Movement is at the core of Butta B’s credo. Even during her early days as a dancer, and as a promoter of Manila’s notorious Bad Decisions parties, she exudes irresistible flow and rhythm. Come 2016, she started cutting her teeth behind the decks, ultimately playing the events she primarily helped elevate. Her playfulness in the box commands any audience she’s in front of. Whether she’s stitching afro beats, baile funk, dancehall and soul together or bringing it back with old-school hip-hop jams, Butta B’s skill to make people move is singular. It didn’t take long until the rest of the local and global scene’s eyes were on her.

From playing clubs and bars in Barcelona, Amsterdam, Zurich, Seoul, Tokyo and Singapore to continuously keeping the local community engaged with her signature parties, Butta Love and Butta Spread and endlessly collaborating with collectives such as Saturday Selects, Orange Juice Asia and Planet Workshop and working with brands the likes of Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Nike, she is quite frankly, unstoppable.
