Electronic music has important roots in counterculture, resistance and the creation of spaces for communities historically excluded elsewhere. At the same time, its development into a global industry means it now operates through businesses, contracts, labour, touring, capital and institutional power. It does not exist separately from the inequalities and power structures of wider society. The question for ADE Pro is therefore not simply why safety matters, but what the industry is responsible for doing about it. The conversation will move between prevention and response. What structures should already exist before harm occurs? What can be embedded into contracts, policies, teams and organisations? What happens when someone does report an incident? Why do people still struggle to come forward? How should organisations respond? What responsibilities do promoters, agencies, festivals and artists carry? And how do we move from individual interventions towards meaningful cultural change? The intention is to keep this discussion practical. Rather than another conversation concluding that nightlife needs to become safer, the session should examine the tools, responsibilities and decisions through which that change can actually happen.

Our conferences are accessible for all ages in general. Do note that when alcoholic beverages are served, access can be denied.
