What's Next? with Moa Afzal and Nikki McNeill

What’s Next: an interesting conversation between a young professional at the beginning of his / her career and a more seasoned professional in the same work field. On what were their first career steps, initial struggles, errors and first successes, the (rapid) change of the industry, what they’ve learned along the way, the biggest fuckups etc. and how to have a sustainable career. This session has a main focus on the publishing side of the industry.

As XITE’s PR & Communications Manager, Moa Afzal is responsible for the company’s international PR strategy and all partnerships with concerts, festivals & events. On top of that, he is the main contact for all media, labels, artists and influencers. He has pioneered XITE’s PR and communications strategy in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom, set up and coordinated over 80 different partnerships per year, and organised all XITE events in the last three years, including the XITE Awards and the annual XITE Rooftop Party. Before working at XITE, Moa was part of MOJO’s marketing & communications team, promoting concerts for the biggest international artists.

With over 22 years experience in the music industry Nikki McNeill is the founder of Global Publicity which specialises in worldwide PR and communications for music, festivals and events. Nikki is passionate about the global music scene and only works with clients she truly believe in, giving her an authentic voice that rises above the rest. Having earned a reputation for hard work, honesty and professionalism, Nikki is dedicated to achieving the best results with campaigns that cross borders with clients including EXIT Festival, Lowlands and Secret Solstice. And once the work is done Nikki can be found on the dance floor, where her passion for music first started.
