Chile 2

ADE Country Focus Chile

Chile, the subject of this year's second Country Focus, has a long history when it comes to electronically generated music, with the electronic suite Variaciones Espectrales (Spectral Variations) composed by Jose Vicente Asuar in the late 1950s. Then in the mid-60s, Estudio No.1 by Samuel Claro became the first LP of Chilean electronic music to be released officially. These days Chile is best known for Ricardo Villalobos, Cristian Vogel, Tomasa del Real, Pinochet Boys, Diegors, Follakzoid and Nicolas Jaar, as well as being one of South America's most politically and economically stable countries with a thriving live circuit and a growing club scene. This is your chance to hear all about Chile's electronic scene, where to play and who to talk to.
