Pasquale Rotella (US)

Pasquale Rotella is the visionary founder and CEO of Insomniac, a global entertainment company based in California and the driving force behind some of the world’s most iconic music festivals, including Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), Beyond Wonderland, Nocturnal Wonderland, and more. A pioneering figure in dance music culture, Rotella has dedicated over 30 years to championing creativity, inclusivity, and community through immersive, large-scale experiences.

Since launching Insomniac in Los Angeles in 1993, Rotella has transformed a grassroots movement into a worldwide powerhouse. California, where Insomniac is headquartered, has been an institution and ground zero for North America’s dance music scene, shaping and influencing the culture at large. Today, Insomniac produces over 1,000 events annually across multiple continents, with California remaining the epicenter of dance music culture. The company’s flagship festivals and five dedicated electronic music venues in the state underscore its commitment to nurturing the scene year-round.

Known for his hands-on leadership, meticulous attention to detail, and genuine respect for his fanbase—whom he affectionately calls “Headliners”—Rotella crafts events that combine cutting-edge production, large-scale art installations, theatrical performances, and world-class musical lineups, creating transformative, multi-sensory environments.

Beyond the music, Rotella is a passionate advocate for the culture that shaped him. Through Insomniac, he supports numerous charitable initiatives and community programs, embodying his belief that dance music has the power to unite, uplift, and inspire people from all walks of life.

Under his leadership, Insomniac continues to innovate—expanding dance music into arenas, clubs, and groundbreaking venues like the Las Vegas Sphere—while remaining rooted in the California-born underground ethos that ignited the movement.
