While studying Popular Music Journalism at Southampton Solent University Nicola had always taken an ardent interest in dance music and graduated with a Special Award for Contribution to Club Culture Journalism. Starting her career interviewing artists for event promotion videos she follow the path of her true passion into traditional copy journalism. Under the moniker Whisky Kicks Nicola specialises in drum and bass and has spent the last six years as the regular reviews columnist for the genre in renowned print magazine DJ Mag.
