Monosaic (NL)

Casper Leenaars is a multidisciplinary artist focusing on music creation/performance and digital art. In his project titled 'monosaic' he explores multiple forms of electronic music and sound art, resulting from experimentation with different forms of synthesis, iterative audio manipulation and resampling. By taking inspiration from many genres, his music draws on elements of ambient, dub, techno, broken, and downtempo, relying strongly on atmosphere and texture. Additionally, he creates visuals surrounding concepts of data manipulation, digital glitches and bugs using self-written code and programs. Combined, 'monosaic' is a project exploring areas in between the order and chaos that modern technology can create.


monosaic is an artist, music producer, live performer, and DJ who is currently part of PODD as a resident artist and co-organiser. In his sets he tells stories composed of multiple genres, where he plays with anticipation by layering tracks, textures, and rhythms that each induce unique feelings, pushing and pulling the listener through different mental and physical states. His knowledge gained from production is reflected in his sets by careful consideration of individual track elements, and by usage of external effect modules to create tension and evolving atmospheres. His selections are centered around hypnotism, with various driving elements layered between to create a continuous, captivating flow.
