Isaac Sellam (FR)

Isaac Sellam is a French fashion designer known for his radical, research-driven approach to leather. After designing and sewing his first jacket at sixteen, he spent fifteen years experimenting with materials and techniques before founding his own label, Isaac Sellam Experience, in Paris in 2002.

Working closely with tanners, he developed his own methods of treating leather so it moves and falls like fabric. His designs are recognisable for their exposed, contrasting seams and metal clips, used both decoratively and structurally, giving his garments a stripped-down, almost surgical aesthetic that puts the construction of each piece on show.
