George Commijs (NL)

George Commijs, also known as Glimmerman, is the label manager and curator at Purple Desert Records, founded by his longtime friend and creative peer Kasper Kerpel (Impello). Based in Rotterdam, George’s connection with electronic music began in the late eighties and early nineties, as house and hardcore shaped the city’s underground culture. His fascination with darker, more atmospheric sounds eventually led him to techno.

As Glimmerman, George plays dark, carefully selected techno and minimal. His sets build a story through layered transitions, rhythmic tension, and a precise sense of flow.

At Purple Desert Records, George focuses on curation, A&R and artistic development. Together with Kasper, he supports artists whose music has its own identity. The label’s new sublabel, Purple Desert: Fragments, takes that curiosity beyond techno, creating room for breakbeat, jungle, drum and bass, dubstep, glitch and other experimental electronic sounds.

During ADE Lab, George hopes to meet artists who share that creative spirit and help bring their music to a wider audience.
