Anna Neale ()

Anna Neale is a songwriter, artist, producer, researcher and music industry executive working at the intersection of creativity, technology, AI and creators’ rights. With more than 25 years’ experience across the music industry, she is Director of Creators Relations at CISAC, the global confederation of authors’ societies, representing the interests of millions of creators worldwide.

A key focus of Anna’s work is the impact of generative AI on music and human creativity. She works internationally on creator-centred approaches to AI, advocating for consent, transparency, licensing and fair remuneration for the use of creative works in AI systems, alongside the protection of cultural diversity and the value of human creativity. Her work has included CISAC’s international AI advocacy and policy activity, engagement around the economic impact of AI on creators, and ECSA’s AI & Technology Working Group.

Anna is also a Doctoral Researcher at Birmingham City University, examining the technological, economic and artistic changes shaping contemporary commercial songwriting.

Alongside her policy and research work, Anna remains an active recording artist, songwriter and producer. She has toured internationally, released three albums and two EPs independently, and written for artists, broadcast, television and advertising. Her forthcoming album, *Heretic* (2026), produced with Mercury-nominated Gerry Diver, includes collaborations with Dave Rowntree (Blur), Grammy Award winner Victoria Horn, Patch Hannan and Julian Swales.

Her previous album *Wide Sky* received a five-star review from RnR Magazine, while her wider collaborators include John Wozniak, Justin Gray, James Warren and English National Opera.

Anna has held elected and advisory roles with the Musicians’ Union, The Ivors Academy, the BRIT Awards Voting Academy and ECSA, and is a longstanding advocate for creators, independent music, diversity and a sustainable future for songwriting in the age of AI.
