ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Francisco Allendes, Chilean DJ and producer based in Ibiza, continues to establish himself as one of the most prominent talents in the global electronic music scene. Since his early days, he has evolved and released music on some of the most prestigious techno and house labels, including Desolat, Kaluki, VIVa Music, Cadenza, Snatch, Mood, and Crosstown Rebels. His track Llovizna, released on Cadenza in 2009, was a turning point that propelled him onto the international stage. That same year, he embarked on the Fiebre Amarilla world tour, further reinforcing his global presence. Since then, he has performed at major festivals such as Creamfields, Awakenings, Mysteryland, Love Parade, Tomorrowland, Medusa, MMW, BPM, ANTS, and HYTE, among many others.
His sound, a fusion of house and techno with organic elements and percussion, has led him to produce multiple hits such as Always Around, Llovizna, Together, Esa Nena Quiere, Poncho!, and Roulette, tracks that have been supported by legends like Carl Cox, Loco Dice, Marco Carola, Luciano, and Damian Lazarus.
Musical Roots and Early Years
Born in Chile, Francisco was introduced to music at an early age. At nine, he began playing the violin and participated in various chamber orchestras and folk groups. At 17, his passion for electronic music emerged after discovering progressive rock and synthesizers. Soon after, he started producing his own music and, in 2001, acquired his first pair of Technics turntables, which quickly led him to become a professional DJ in Chile.
In 2005, he moved to Zaragoza, Spain, where he worked with Iñigo Oruézabal on the Monomachine and Garlic projects. He released on European labels such as Immigrant, Catwash, and Paradigm, and in 2007, he returned to Chile to co-found Andes Music with Marcelo Rosselot, the country’s first vinyl and digital label, aimed at promoting South American artists. His collaboration with Alexi Delano, El Coleccionista de Piedras, released on Matthew Dear’s Spectral Sound, solidified his place in the international tech house scene.
Rise and Global Recognition
Francisco developed a unique sound blending house and techno with Afro-Latin influences. In 2009, his track Llovizna on Cadenza launched him onto the international circuit, leading to performances in Japan, the Netherlands, the U.S., Spain, France, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, and Uruguay. That same year, he embarked on the Fiebre Amarilla tour, further solidifying his reputation before relocating to Ibiza.
Ibiza Connection
Since arriving in Ibiza in 2010, Francisco became a resident at Ushuaïa Beach Club, where his track Esa Nena Quiere on VIVa Music became an instant hit. In 2011 and 2012, he was a resident at Cocoon in Formentera, and in 2013, he secured a monthly residency at ANTS in Ushuaïa, where he remains a resident to this day, also performing at events like Loco Dice’s Used + Abused and the Privilege closing party.
Over the years, Francisco has become a familiar name at Ibiza’s most iconic clubs, including Ushuaïa, Hï Ibiza, Space, Amnesia, Sankeys, Underground, Heart, and Lío. Additionally, he has hosted the ANTS radio show on Ibiza Sonica and other international platforms.
Recent Evolution and Current Projects
Since 2019, he has continued his ANTS residency and has performed at multiple Elrow events in Ibiza, Spain, and the United States, while maintaining a busy global tour schedule. He was awarded Best Ibiza DJ at the DJ Awards, a testament to his influence on the island’s music scene.
On a global scale, he has toured extensively in South America, including an exclusive performance with his Allendes Orchestra at Creamfields Chile, merging his classical roots with electronic music. He has also accompanied the ANTS brand to cities like Dubai, Mexico, Croatia, Belgium (Tomorrowland), the Netherlands (Kingsday), Poland (Sunrise Festival), Miami (MMW), Spain, Italy, and London (Printworks).
In recent years, he has performed at major festivals such as Dreambeach (Spain), Awakenings (ADE), and The Drumsheds London (Carl Cox & Friends), alongside a U.S. tour with dates in Las Vegas, San Diego, and San Francisco.
In the studio, he has released music on Saved, Desolat, Cadenza, VIVa, KMS, Rawthentic, Kaluki, Sola, 8Bit, Snatch, Elrow, and Crosstown Rebels. During the pandemic, he developed online production masterclasses, collaborating with students and expanding his artistic reach. He has also consolidated his own record label, Canibales, with over 30 releases and has taken the label beyond the studio by organizing Canibales events in Ibiza and Chile, further strengthening his artistic vision and global connections.
With an unwavering dedication to music, Francisco continues to innovate in the global electronic scene, staying true to his philosophy: “Music has always been a part of my life; I can’t imagine a day when I’m not creating or performing”.
