Ellen Allien (DE)

Ellen Allien is one of the most iconic artists of her generation, an authentic figurehead of techno music, and inspiring visionary of Berlin's electronic community. The DJ, label head of bpitch and UFO Inc, artist, collaborator and curator spent most of the past two years in Berlin - focused on her local artistic community, working on new projects, making and releasing music, and DJing from home with her world renowned Balcony sets. During this time her 'We Are Not Alone' project has grown from a successful compilation series championing new artists and techno sounds, to become a full film, exhibition and book together with her longtime collaborator the photographer and director Stini Roehrs. She has signed new artists to her labels, including transmedia artist Rosa Anschütz, released her own music including the banging Rosen EP and remixes of her favourite band Lebanon Hanover, and a 20th anniversary re-release of her seminal album 'Stadtkind'.
