Art Expo: How Can There Be Day Without Night
The Node North will be hosting an free exposition with nightlife related art by Britta Moller from Wednesday October 20 till Sunday October 25.
Britta Möller is an Amsterdam-based artist creating large-scale abstract paintings wth acrylic, mixed media and layered textures. Her work explores transformation, surrender, visibility and concealment — themes rooted in the moment her former professional world came to a sudden stop during the pandemic.
Before turning to painting, Möller worked for more than twenty-five years as a graphic designer and art director. In 1998, she co-founded Maslow, an Amsterdam-based design agency working for a wide range of organisations within the cultural sector. Maslow was responsible for the art direction and visual identity of Amsterdam Dance Event from 1998 to 2020, one of the key projects that shaped Möller’s strong position within the music and nightlife industry.
With a specialisation in books and magazines, she designed and produced publications connected to Dutch dance culture, including Mary Go Wild — 25 Years of Dance in the Netherlands. She later co-founded and co-owned Mary Go Wild, a platform, store and publishing house dedicated to dance culture, which produced titles including Awakenings — 20 Years of Techno, Celebrate Life — The Story of ID&T and Thunderdome — 25 Years of Hardcore.
When the pandemic brought the cultural and event world to a halt, painting became a way to move through loss and transition. After decades behind a computer, large-scale painting brought her back into the body: using movement, rhythm and physical presence instead of screen-based control.
In some works, Möller uses phosphorescent pigments, creating a hidden layer that appears only in darkness — a subtle reference to nightlife, and to the idea that everything carries both a light and a dark side.
She works from her studio at A Lab in Amsterdam-Noord.

ADE Festival tickets are sold individually by the festival event organizers, but you’ll also be able to purchase them through the ticket links on the event pages on our website here.
Not to worry! Make sure to contact the event (or their ticketing provider) you are visiting as soon as possible with as many details about your order; name, email address, amount of tickets, etc. Once they've recovered your order, the tickets can be resent to your email.

Most festival events have an age limit of 18+ (and sometimes even 21+ or 23+). These are Dutch governmental rules which state that below the age of 18 you are not allowed to enter a club.
Please double-check the promoter's or venue's website to be sure you can access the event!
Yes, the ADE Pro Pass grants you access to all ADE official festival events.
Be aware though that there are over 1,200 events during ADE that you can enter with the Pro Pass wristband and that ADE cannot guarantee access. There is a limited capacity that each venue can take into account for Pro Pass holders. This means for some of the more crowded events you have to arrive early. Once capacity is reached, we will go over in a full-for-now policy. The festival event organizer will decide when and if more people are allowed to go in.
The ADE Pro Pass is the perfect fit if you are planning on enjoying the combination of day and night events. If you want guaranteed access to a particular festival event, we advise you to get a single festival ticket instead.
We dance together, so please be mindful of yourself and each other. We expect an open attitude from our visitors towards other guests, regardless of their origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion and age. If you see or experience any unwanted attention, harassment or behavior of any kind that makes you uncomfortable, please speak out and notify staff.
