The Significance of the Underground with DJ Bone
Speaker: DJ Bone (Artist)
Are you into House or Techno? Do you enjoy dancing and getting sweaty in dark-lit clubs? If your answer is yes to both, we'd love to welcome you to this one-of-a-kind discussion led by DJ Bone at the main hall of ADE Lab.
DJ Bone returns to ADE Lab, ready to share his passion and knowledge with the next generation. Originally from Detroit, the artist will dive into the legacy of the underground electronic music scene that helped shape techno and house, joined by surprise guests—renowned DJ colleagues who are, more importantly, close friends. Together, the panel will explore the crucial roles Detroit and Chicago played in pioneering these genres, tracing their influence from the underground to the global stage and into the future of electronic music.
The session will examine the cultural and musical impact that has crossed borders and inspired artists worldwide. While celebrating the past, DJ Bone is eager to engage with all of you on how to protect and preserve the underground and honor the trailblazers who built it, while pushing the genre’s boundaries. Or should we explore whether it should be protected at all? Is the underground something that must be safeguarded from commercialization, or does the digital era allow it to evolve naturally?
