Moderator: Alex Matatula

Through this interactive workshop, organisers, artists, policymakers and other industry professionals will learn more about developing circular solutions, based on the findings of 44 leading festivals from 14 countries.

About this program

The Green Deal Circular Festivals unites 44 leading festivals from 14 countries, aiming for circularity and climate neutrality by 2025. The past years, this group has developed a model of a circular and climate neutral festival - a future-proof perspective for the entire sector. To determine where you stand on your way towards this model, also a monitoring system has been developed. This facilitates informed decisions, and can form the basis of event organization’s circular roadmaps.

Conversations about circularity within your own organisation(s), with suppliers, other stakeholders and visitors can lead to progress in the near future. We will show you how this model can be a conversation starter and we invite you to give feedback and share your ideas on this model. This workshop will answer the following questions:

- What is a circular and climate neutral festival?

- What are the biggest challenges and how can you overcome them?

- What steps can your organization take towards circularity and climate neutrality?

Who is this program for?

This workshop is designed for event and festival professionals, organizers, artists, policymakers and (sustainability) event managers. This program is part of ADE Green, please note that you need an ADE Pro or ADE Green ticket to join this program. For the full ADE Green program, please check here.

A collaboration between ADE Green and GDCF

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management facilitates the international Green Deal Circular Festivals (GDCF); one of the flagship Green Deals in which the government and organizers of now 44 festivals from European countries work together to realize ambitions in the field of circularity and climate neutrality.
