Secret Project Festival

Following the smashing success of its sold-out Miami event on April 30th and May 1st, Secret Project announces it will be crossing over the Atlantic for the largest underground event during Amsterdam Dance Event in the unique industrial warehouse environment of Hembrugterrein. The curated lineup of tastemakers includes none other than ARTBAT, Ben Böhmer LIVE, Ben Klock & Marcel Dettman, Camelphat, Damian Lazarus, Denis Sulta, Honey Dijon, Jeff Mills, Loco Dice & Marco Carola, Sama Abdulhadi, Sita Abellán, and more.

With its roots originating in Los Angeles, Secret Project is notorious for fusing world-class music curation with its local street art aesthetic. Secret Project has strived to always bring art, culture, breathtaking audiovisuals, and underground music together to create a cutting-edge environment for its visitors. From immersive, glowing environments to large-scale murals and live graffiti, Secret
Project is an urban outdoor oasis of art and culture. Taking place from 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm, the festival will be one of ADE’s few daytime shows, allowing visitors to enjoy the underground’s finest for 11 hours straight. Amsterdam’s Hembrugterrein will welcome the festival-goers on its grounds, allowing the artists to play on four different stages both indoors and outdoors, making it ADE’s largest venue for underground music. The unique features and industrial environment of the Hembrugterrein make it the perfect venue for Secret Project’s first-ever European edition and add a brand new location to this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event.

Hembrugterrein

Taets is part of the inspiring industrial heritage on the Hembrugterrein. This monumental industrial area from 1897 is situated right on the border of Amsterdam, directly on the Noordzeekanaal. It lies at the heart of the UNESCO world heritage site, the ‘Stelling van Amsterdam’, and is the city’s new vibrant breeding ground for creativity, art and culture.

In 2004, Taets was one of the first to be captivated by the magic of this terrain which was still inaccessible at the time. Back then, the terrain was owned by the Ministry of Defence and was strictly prohibited. Taets’ Gallery was the first cultural initiative on the site. At that time the terrain was wild, trees grew through the old dilapidated buildings, and the area was not yet cleared of possible explosives in the ground.

Since then, the Hembrugterrein has become a breeding ground for creative instigators, social entrepreneurs, and cultural institutes. The terrain still kept her wildness and magic.

The Hembrugterrein has a number of restaurants and cafés, various museums, a small podium, artist’s studios, and design shops, and it regularly hosts concerts and festivals.
