Music Moves: Movement

Music Moves and ADE have collaborated on training music fans to become social entrepreneurs in the music industry. Music Moves aims to make the dance floor accessible for everyone. The MM students have followed a free 4-part Music Moves course in which they have learned the tricks of the trade in organizing their own music event for people you normally don’t meet on the dance floor: the elderly, kids with special needs, newcomers or homeless people. This event is one of the eleven events that resulted out of the course!

Organizers "Movement":

"People who emigrate to the Netherlands or apply for asylum here, have not always found a safe haven in the year 2021. Free expression, release and connection can help fight stigma and oppression, and obtain (life) resources. 'Samen Warm Welkom Amsterdam' - an organization that works hard for the rights, proper (long-term) residence and representation of migrants & status holders in the Netherlands - we organize a Music Moves event where the social, cultural and artistic life of status holders in the Netherlands is set in motion.

At Movement: Welcome to North, status holders will meet like-minded dancers, get to know both the residents of Amsterdam-North and other migrants, and can participate in workshops, performances and DJ sets. Yallah! Yallah! will close the day with a blistering and unifying set full of dabke, electronica and beats from the Arabic music world."

The latest Dutch press conference mandates that clubs, venues and indoor events are forced to close between 00:00 and 06:00 CET. This means ADE is preparing to shift it's events to daytime. Over the coming days, the ADE team and the Amsterdam city council are examining the details of the new regulations for each type of event within the total ADE offering.

Also, all events need to have a COVID-health-check prior to the event.

If you are planning a stay in the Netherlands then be aware that you must follow the Dutch advice and rules to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please follow the advice of your government and check the Dutch guidelines before planning to travel.
