Fontys ACI Presents: Future of Events

The Covid-19 pandemic caused the whole festival scene to almost disappear. Meanwhile, many new opportunities are created for festival organisers. All speakers have a different view and approach. The conversation will be started with big speakers who all play a different role within the festival branch.

First off, Jane Slingo, an electronic music professional with 25+ years' experience and the director of Australia’s Electric Music Conference, will give us an insight in the changing and challenging event industry. In addition, Burning Man Project’s Executive event Producer, Justin Katz, will talk about the online multiverse Burning Man organized last summer. Moreover, Allan Hardenberg, ALDA’s Founder and Director, but also concept developer and global producer will join the panel to talk about his experiences in events last summer. The panel will include issues like the organization of this year’s events, livestreams and the impact, and their differing visions on the future of the event industry.

This panel is co-curated by our educational partner Fontys ACI

Even though travel by flight is currently not prohibited, we do not encourage global travel to Amsterdam during ADE. Our team is creating an online-first format to ensure everyone can enjoy the event without the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus.

If you are planning to visit Amsterdam, please make sure to check the Dutch guidelines beforehand.

The current Covid-19 measures include keeping a distance of 1,5 meters and wearing a face mask when using public transport. Other general rules include washing your hands often, cough and sneeze into your elbow or disposable paper tissues and to stay home when you’re experiencing symptoms of a cold and/or fever. More information on the current COVID-19 measurements in Amsterdam can be found here.

The select number of ADE Special seated concerts have been set up in close coordination with the city council and the venues are obligated to operate within all COVID-19 guidelines in order to ensure everyone's health and safety.

The minimum age depends per event. Most clubs in Amsterdam are 18+ but some may have a higher minimum age. Please double check the venues website to make sure you can enter the event.
