The Only One in the Room

Five female and one male music professional(s) come together to discuss gender bias in electronic music, the research available, their personal experiences and actions that can be taken to prevent prejudice, whether in large companies or small. The electronic music industry has been 'talking about D&I’ for 3 years and the panel will debate what progress has been made. Research from Nielsen Music and AFEM indicates gender balance and equality is shifting slowly and the panel will discuss how that pace can quicken. As the AFEM Code of Conduct authored by Sarah Hildering and Matthew Adell nears its launch, could its adoption by AFEM member companies inspire more companies to follow their example and become an industry standard?
