Ballantine's True Music have teamed up with ADE to champion the home of music, nightclubs.
The Ballantine’s House is a space that will play host to a programme of great talks and great music, opening its doors on Wednesday 16th October as part of the official ADE by Day program.
ADE and Ballantine’s will bring together those spearheading nightclub communities around the world as part of their dedication to celebrating True Music from across the globe, and aiding conversations between established pioneers and a new generation of innovators. What makes these communities so special and successful is their diversity, community spirit, and openness to all, celebrating the long-lasting cultural institutions that these ‘club families’ have become, and how they will inspire future communities. All of these themes and more will be discussed and debated over an evening that will also include an assortment of Ballantine’s cocktails.
The line-up for the ‘How Dancefloors Create Communities’ panel includes:
- Mike Grieve, Managing Director of Sub Club in Glasgow, the world’s longest running underground dance club
- Ali Saleh, Co-Founder of The Gärten in Beirut, the Middle East’s one-of-a-kind pyramid club
- Ferran Camarasa, General Manager at Nitsa, downtown Barcelona’s legendary techno and house nightclub housed in an old theatre
- Nicolas Matar, Founder of Output, the now closed beacon for house and techno in Brooklyn
The evening features the premiere of a documentary that delves into the varied backgrounds of each of these venues. Their representatives will be joined by an Amsterdam clubbing lynchpin, Kim Tuin (Het HEM) in a Q&A hosted by artist and PIP den Haag owner, Steven van Lummel before the panel conversation gets down to business.
In true Ballantine’s style, the event will close with a party, featuring music from Bristolian Peach Discs Boss, Shanti Celeste and Harri & Domenic, the Sub Club residents behind Subculture, the longest weekly house music residency in the world, alongside another very special guest, to be announced soon – watch this space!
