Ever since their 2015 Allogamy EP, the duo of Stijn Hosman and Hessel Stuut have been making waves across the electronic music world and beyond with their digital-acoustic combinations. Reaching the attention of eclectic tastemakers like Gilles Peterson, they increasingly expanded their sound from an ambient and experimental techno-pop feel into more dramatic, cinematic vistas and opened up their improvisatory live performances. These latter won them many fans as they performed at festivals like ADE, Best Kept Secret, Fusion, Pitch and Wildeburg and clubs from Paris to Istanbul. Their 2019 Igneousalbum consolidated all these developments and shows a fully mature act at the height of their powers. For this workshop, they'll be looking at Ableton features like sample programming, rhythmic swing and use of field recordings for building atmospheric textures, and also on their own unique use of organic drum grooves and recording of individual live drum hits.
Registration for this workshop is only possible with an ADE Sound Lab wristband.
