ADE Green - Plastic Promise: The Next Steps towards Responsible Plastic Use

Exactly one year ago the Plastic Promise – an initiative started by the Dutch event industry – was launched at ADE Green. Now, the promises made have been tested in the wild: on festival grounds.

The Plastic Promise focus for this year focuses on points where plastic cups are unavoidable. Festivals, cup-suppliers, beer, and soda brands have collaborated across the entire supply chain to create a circular cup system at festivals.

As well as all this work behind the scenes, festival audiences have been reached online and at the festivals with the Never Give Up On Your Cup campaign create awareness among visitors.

In this discussion, Plastic Promise ambassador Sam Feldt will be our host. First, we will freshen up your knowledge about plastics with Daniël Poolen – and Heineken, Awakenings and Friendly Fire will share their results and learnings on different ways to create a circular cup system. This system aims to reuse or recycle the used cups and minimalizes residual waste.

Plastic Promise is an initiative of Green Events Netherlands and the Green Deal “Waste-free Festivals”. This project is supported by the Ministry of Infrastructure & Water Management
