East - Thursday

Wednesday, 16 October 2019
Amsterdam Dance Event second chapter is unfolding as we speak, and if you’re looking for adventure in Amsterdam’s eastern district, you’ve come to the right place. Together with Desperados, we compiled five tips that will kick your ADE into second gear.

Amsterdam’s picturesque Eastside makes a big contribution to ADE's cultural program and houses some of the city’s larger night venues. Across five days East houses vinyl markets, AlgoRaves, boutique clubbing, ADE University, and exhibitions. We’re here to highlight just a few of todays offering to help you find your way around.

Team Behind Cocoon | Generator Hostel | 14:00 - 14:45

It's always interesting to meet the team behind a clubland brand. Every single one of those brands is unique and has its own strengths and challenges, but this meeting will be particularly special as it welcomes Cocoon. Over the years, it has become one of the most respected music brands around with Sven Väth as its spearhead. Since 1996, Cocoon has not only maintained its position, but also its musical and creative integrity without wavering from its vision. The people that made that happen are going to tell you all about how they did it.

The Djoon Experience | De Tropen | 23:00 - 06:00

If you’re in for a healthy dose of house tonight, head on over to the Tropenmuseum (Museum of the Tropics) where the Parisian crew behind the club Djoon is joining forces with afro tech organisation Night Owls. They have a night in store for you that is inspired by African sounds of the past, the present and the future. Afshin, Djeff Afrozilla, and Rich Medina, among others, will bring the groove throughout the night.

Verknipt | Amsterdam Studio’s | 22:00 - 07:00

Local crew Verknipt is kicking off a three-day party stint at Amsterdam Studio’s tonight, and their opening is set to get loud and heavy. Techno is the name of tonight’s game. So strap yourself in for thundering sets by AnD, Ansome, Fjaak, Juan Sanchez, Remco Beekwilder and many others.

Beats | Studio/K | 21:30 - 23:15

If you’re on the lookout for visual storytelling, Studio/K is your go-to. They’re premiering the movie Beats tonight, which portrays the early nineties rave scene in the UK through the eyes of two friends from Scotland, who are going out just one last time before one of them moves to another town. The combination of a universal story about friendship and the soundtrack of an electrifying scene should get you in the mood for what’s to come later tonight or this week.
