30 YEARS ADE: Discover the final additions to ADE Arts & Culture

Tuesday, 13 October 2026
Electronic music has always been more than sound. For 30 years, ADE has reflected its influence across artistic disciplines and cultural movements. This year's Arts & Culture program builds on that history, exploring how music takes shape through dance, visual art, film, architecture and performance. Across Amsterdam, artists bring these connections to life in spaces ranging from the Zuiderkerk and Van Gogh Museum to Melkweg's cinema. Discover the final additions to ADE Arts & Culture below.

Dance

Elisa Zuppini - Disambiguation @ De Duif

Presented by WhyNot, Stadsherstel and ADE Arts & Culture on ADE Wednesday, Elisa Zuppini's 'Disambiguation' brings together fifteen dancers in a choreography exploring the relationship between human perception and other-than-human forces. Deconstructed melodies and industrial rhythms accompany the dancers as they move towards and away from the audience.

Striptopia @ Melkweg

Striptopia is a two-hour show on ADE Wednesday that challenges stigma and celebrates the art-forms of pole-dance, drag and stripping. Tip directly via the Striptopia app, and come face to face with outspoken performers in this reimagined strip-club which centers consent and inclusivity.

DANCÆ by Chlär @ Bajes Amsterdam

Following six sold-out performances in Berlin, DANCÆ makes its ADE debut with two limited-capacity performances on ADE Friday. Six dancers move through Chlär's soundtrack, with light and space shaping the choreography inside Amsterdam's former prison.

Kianí Del Valle x EINDER by Boris Acket @ Centrale Markthal

Choreographer and dancer Kianí del Valle presents two performances created specifically for Boris Acket's EINDER installation on ADE Friday and Saturday. Her movements interact with the installation in real time, transforming its canvas and culminating in a stunt that takes her to the full height of the Centrale Markthal.

Music, art and identity

Djrum (live) x EINDER by Boris Acket @ Centrale Markthal

Also exploring Boris Acket's EINDER installation, Djrum presents a live performance on ADE Thursday using self-built instruments: hybrid acoustic-electronic sculptures made from raw and found materials. Together with the surrounding architecture, they create an ever-evolving physical landscape of sound.

24classics presents: GLASS & Beyond @ Zuiderkerk

The ADAM Quartet, shaped by Wes Broersen's scenography, presents a new take on Philip Glass' String Quartet No. 3, 'Mishima', inside the Zuiderkerk on ADE Wednesday. The performance brings minimalism, emotion and visual space together, drawing out a hypnotic intensity from Glass' distinctive musical language.

_mediaklub: Rehearsal of the Victory Day Gig @ Rijksakademie

This live A/V performance explores distance, disruption and connection, using Max Robotov's commands from the front line as part of its structure. Rehearsal of the Victory Day Gig grew from online meetings that continued through the disruption of COVID-19 and the war in Ukraine, with Rijksakademie opening its doors to ADE for the first time on ADE Friday.

To mark 30 YEARS ADE, Rijksakademie alum Rutger de Vries has created a limited-edition poster inspired by the digital VU meter of a DJ Mixer, with all proceeds from its €300 sales supporting the Rijksakademie's 'for artists, by artists' fundraising initiative.

Nocturnes @ Van Gogh Museum

Inspired by the art of James McNeill Whistler, Coby Sey and Devon Rexy reinterpret these nocturnal images of London and the exhibition Whistler. Dandy and Disruptor into musical form with visuals by uncloud. They will both play two sets each on ADE Friday, uncovering and debating if art can be made for arts' sake, a key component of Whistler's ethos.
