Thomas Hosman (NL)
Thomas Hosman is co-founder of Nachtpas, the subscription that gives members unlimited entry to a group of independent Amsterdam clubs. Before turning to nightlife, he spent fifteen years building Cineville, the cinema pass he co-founded in 2009 with friends from Amsterdam's student-run cinema Kriterion. As its director, he saw Cineville grow from a local experiment into a network of more than 70 Dutch arthouse cinemas with some 85,000 members, good for over 1.5 million visits a year, and helped lay the groundwork for its expansion abroad. Cineville changed how a generation goes to the movies: members go more often and take more chances on films they don't know. With Nachtpas, Thomas is now testing whether the same model can do for the dance floor what it did for the cinema: make going out affordable, spontaneous and adventurous again.
