Stacey Griffin (NL)
Stacey Griffin is an Amsterdam-based creative, musician and sound practitioner and the founder of The Stargate, an immersive sonic sanctuary and cultural space where music, spatial sound, tea culture, ritual, technology and multisensory experience converge.
Her relationship with music began in the underground - immersing herself in the techno scenes of Detroit and Tokyo in the late 1990s - and has since moved through fashion, global communications, the music industry and experiential culture. Her work has included projects with MF DOOM and Danger Mouse, as well as international fashion and cultural brands.
Music has remained a constant thread throughout her career, including End of Time, her music project exploring the space between electronic music, psychedelia, consciousness and immersive environments.
Alongside her musical work, Stacey founded Shift Meditation, a global sound experience & education platform with more than 250 graduates across six continents, and has created sound experiences for festivals, conferences, and museums including Stedelijk Museum and Tropenmuseum, as well as Gucci, SXSW, Wildeburg, Calvin Klein and Mercedes-Benz.
Her work asks what happens when sound becomes more than something we listen to; when it becomes somewhere we can go.
