Sofiya Nzau is a Kenyan singer-songwriter whose Kikuyu-language vocals and emotionally rich storytelling have made her one of the standout voices in Afro House and global electronic music.

From village church singing and perseverance in Kenya to global chart visibility, Sofiya built her career by doing something many artists were told not to do: singing in her native Kikuyu and centering African stories, emotion, and identity directly in dance music.

Her voice moved from online sample packs into one of the standout international dance crossovers of 2023–2024 with “Mwaki” (with Zerb), which reached No. 7 on the UK Official Singles Chart and reached over 421 Million+ streams worldwide.
