Roland Leesker (DE)
Roland Leesker lives for and loves electronic music, and has done since well before 1989, the year of his first show as a House DJ on the Frankfurt bar scene. Just two years later he became a resident in clubs like Wild Pitch, XS and Dorian Gray, and by day, you could find him working in a local vinyl shop, Delirium Records. In 1995 he left Frankfurt for New York City, where he opened the first international branch of Delirium Records. Two years later he put down his records in favor of books, studying International Finance and Law in China, Great Britain and Germany. After successfully completing his studies, Roland made another transition, moving to Berlin to begin as International Marketing Manager at Ministry of Sound. In 2005 he stepped up as Marketing Director for Virgin Music and promoted the music of acts including Joss Stone, Lenny Kravitz, Korn, David Guetta, and The Chemical Brothers. Since 2008, Leesker has stayed busy as the founder, shareholder and partner of many varied music business enterprises. Alongside his tasks as the Managing Director of Get Physical Music and new operation Get Digital, he acts as music publishing consultant for the piano player Francesco Tristano, and manages legendary DJ Chris Liebing. He also enjoys a variety of sports, playing rare vinyl from his ever growing collection at select shows, and performing as The Doormen on Vacation with his friends John Acquaviva and Philipp Jung. (Coming soon to a hotel bar near you!)
