Rob Scully (NL)

Speaker
Rob is an environmental scientist. He became “accidentally” involved in festivals and events over 20 years ago, helping to run the Croissant Neuf area at Glastonbury Festival– one of the longest established venues on the site and an area that is completely solar powered. Since then, he has become an experienced freelance event production & site manager, working Glastonbury every year and also amassing a wealth of experience at many other unique events including Kendal Calling, Festival No. 6 and the Croissant Neuf Summer Party – a fully featured family festival run entirely on solar power with no diesel generators. Rob has worked with the Glastonbury Festival infrastructure team on a variety of environmental projects, including initiating and managing an ongoing monitoring project in partnership with power provider Aggreko and academic research partner the University of the West of England, that looks at the efficiency of temporary power systems on site. For the last 2 years Rob has run the UK & Ireland arm of ZAP Concepts, helping festivals and events to increase the efficiency and sustainability of their on-site power supplies, working closely with promoters, event managers and power supply companies.
