Pieter van Bodegraven (NL)

Speaker
Pieter van Bodegraven is generally considered as one of the most active and experienced people in the Dutch Publishing scene and even has that same great reputation in the European Publishing Community. Pieter (co)-owned various publishing companies and has been a frontrunner in the business of sub-publishing (w.i. the representation of foreign publishing catalogues in Benelux or Europe) and has been specially also very successful in working with and developing local writers. He has been working from the very beginning of their careers with composers/producers such as Tiesto, Afrojack, Yellow Claw, Mr. Probz, Fedde le Grand, when he was co-owner of Talpa Music (which was acquired 3 years ago by German conglomerate Bertelsmann), and is again working with various of these big names. However added some further big names to the list, as he from the beginning of this year, joined main independent Dutch Publishing company Cloud 9 Music, which is representing the publishing of DJ Mag Superstars such as Hardwell, Armin, Lost Frequencies, Dannic, Nervo, Green velvet, Julian Jordan, Dirtcaps, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano etc. In the meantime however Pieter and the Cloud 9 team have also been an essential part in the huge explosion of the phenomenal Dutch Urban successes, as it is very proud to represent publishing the successes of successful labels such as Rotterdam Airlines (Sevn, Kevin), Boaz’s, Nouveau Riche, Van Klasse (Esko, Josylvio), Equipe ( Rollan, Gio), Avalon (Dope Boy), Seven Figures Productions, 207 Productions, and is the publisher of great artists and producers such as Firstman, White Boy, Reymuzik, Hef, Sepa, Denta, D-Double, Willy Beats etc. The reason Pieter is in this business is not just money (“as it would feel pretty bad, if at my age I still had to work to make a living”). He always indicates that because of the great life the music business brought him, he feels he has to give his experience, knowhow, network and also financial investments back to entrepreneurs and talents who deserve his support.
