Jon Karthaus is a multidisciplinary Dutch director, screenwriter, producer, and songwriter widely recognised for his dynamic contributions to Dutch cinema and television. He first rose to fame as an actor in Zoop, a popular youth adventure series that captured the imagination of a generation. Over the years, Karthaus has successfully transitioned into a respected director, writer, and producer behind the camera, known for his authentic storytelling, humour, and cinematic flair.



As the founder of Johnnywood Productions, he has developed and directed numerous successful films and series that resonate with broad audiences. His portfolio includes the hit comedy Bon Bini Holland 2—winner of the Audience Golden Calf Award at the Netherlands Film Festival—and the sun-soaked reboot Costa!! (alongside its series spin-off), which reintroduced a new generation to Spain’s legendary nightlife. Other standout titles include Homies, The Dadchelor, and Fijn Weekend, all of which reflect his talent for blending heartfelt stories with sharp humour.
