Pegassi (BE)
Belgian electronic artist Pegassi, the creative alter ego of Sam Huybrecht, has become one of the most compelling new voices in Europe’s high-energy club circuit. His sound moves through trance, techno, eurodance, house, and rave, with the hip-hop instincts he grew up on still omnipresent through his sample-minded attitude. The result is sharp club music that feels larger than life but is still brimming with personality. At the centre of that identity is one of thescene’s most recognisable musical signatures: the clanging bells. First emerging as a subtle melodic detail in Pegassi’s productions, they have since grown into a sonic calling card that sets him even further apart from the pack.
That signature became impossible to ignore as Pegassi’s productions evolved from clubcuriosity to highly sought-after festival currency. His breakthrough came in 2023 with “Yoyoyo,” a track that quickly made its mark on dancefloors and streaming alike. Around this period, he received widespread support from key figures in the rave landscape like KI/KI, VTSS, Tiësto, Anetha, SPFDJ, Marlon Hoffstadt, Funk Tribu, Boys Noize, DJ Gigola and Hannah Laing.
It was an early sign of what would become Pegassi’s musical thumbprint: records that feel playful on the surface, but carry the oomph to take charge of any dancefloor worldwide.
That language came into sharper focus with records like “Spectral Bells” and the heavy-lifting“227kg.” The former leaned directly into the bell motif that has become part of his identity, while the latter pushed his sound into a heavier, swag-filled space, amassing millions of streams and becoming one of the tunes most closely tied to his rise. From there, Pegassi’scatalogue began expanding in several directions at once: “Bring It Back” placed him within theorbit of Live From Earth, the Berlin label known for blurring underground credibility withmainstage instincts; “Milano Cortina,” created as the official soundtrack for Team Belgium atthe 2026 Winter Olympics, showed just how boundless his knack for production was, and themore recent “MOAA”, Mother of All Anthems, brings that wider ambition back to the dancefloor, delivering a track with the rare confidence of a producer who doesn’t just believe, but knowsthat he can do it all.
That same instinct carries through his live shows, where Pegassi's rise has arguably been most apparent. He's made his mark across a growing list of major clubs and festivals alike, including Awakenings, Time Warp, Tomorrowland, Dour, Sziget, Intercell, Pitch, and his standout Boiler Room set. His performances are built less like an exercise in a single genre and more like an excursion through Pegassi’s hyperactive musical mind. As his reputation continues to grow, Pegassi is expanding his touring scope well beyond the European circuit, with key moments in the US including his New York debut in 2025, marquee appearances at Miami Music Week 2026, EDC Orlando and EDC Las Vegas. Beyond the US, Pegassi is quickly building global momentum, with South America and Australia shaping up as major next stops on his touring horizon.
Amidst all this, Pegassi is also shaping his next phase through Sweet Nothing, his own label and event series. It gives him a direct channel for the sound and community forming around him, while creating a platform for new talent, fresh sounds, and club experiences that reflect his own creative instincts.
That sense of artistic control is becoming increasingly central to Pegassi’s next chapter. As his music moves across bigger stages, new territories, and more ambitious releases, he continues to hone the identity that made people pay attention in the first place. The bells may have become his most recognisable signature, but they are only one part of a larger language: club music with character. With a growing international following, a catalogue that stretches further and further without ever sacrificing quality, and Sweet Nothing developing into a world of its own, Pegassi is no longer simply rising through the ranks; he’s building one of the most distinctive new artist projects in today’s club scene.
