OumaimaTune (MA)
OumaimaTune is a Moroccan DJ, emerging music producer and creative based in Marrakech. Her work sits at the intersection of music, community and cultural exchange, with experience across creative management, artist development and event production.
She is an active member of SoundSisters Morocco, a women-led initiative creating greater opportunities, visibility and support for women in the Moroccan music scene. Through music programmes, workshops and creative projects, the initiative supports women in developing their skills, finding their place within the industry and building meaningful connections. Oumaima is involved in the creative and operational development of the initiative, from project coordination and bookings to artist relations and event organisation. She has also been closely involved in developing Hammam Studio, SoundSisters’ music production studio supported by Ballantine’s True Music Fund and the SheSaidSo network. The place is now a space for artists to meet, exchange and develop their practice, with the programme now leading towards a collaborative EP.
Through this work, Oumaima is part of a growing community working to make Morocco’s music scene more inclusive, connected and accessible to emerging talent. She has esperienced different music scenes, spanning Morocco, Portugal, Switzerland and Spain, including management, partnerships, festival production and artist liaison with festivals such as MOGA and Oasis.
As a DJ, OumaimaTune’s sound moves between tech house, minimal, groovy and jazzy house, with an interest in Moroccan and Arab musical influences. She has performed across Morocco and internationally, while also teaching and facilitating DJ workshops and training programmes.
Moving between the roles of artist, organiser, manager and educator has shaped OumaimaTune’s understanding of how music scenes are built : from the creative work on stage to the structures, opportunities and communities that support artists behind it.
