From humble beginnings as a self-taught producer, Moods has steadily risen from crafting beats in his bedroom to be one of the in demand producers and remixers in the business working with the likes of Tom Misch, Jordan Rakei and Ambassadeurs.
Strongly influenced by hip hop legends Pete Rock and J Dilla, he has developed a uniquely warm, soul-tinged hip hop sound yet expanded his horizons further with forays into nu disco and electronica.
After years of honing his production chops on any samplers and synths he could get his hands on and releasing a steady stream of innovative beats his work caught the eye of fellow Dutch electronic act Kraak & Smaak. After commissioning him to rework the track ‘Don’t Let People’ from their ‘Chrome Waves Remixed’ album they were so impressed that soon after, upon starting their own imprint - Boogie Angst, he was the very first artist they signed.
And since then a trio of well received EP releases on the label has seen him championed across BBC Radio (Monki, Mistajam, Jamz Supernova, Lauren Laverne), LA based tastemaker station KCRW and 3FM in his native country.
He’s also become a mainstay in the world of online press – counting the likes of Indie Shuffle, Majestic Casual, Clash Magazine, La Belle Musique and Eton Messy all as fans of his silky funk-fueled exploits.
Moods is currently writing material for his debut album due for release in 2018 on Boogie Angst.
