Masšh (ZA)

Masšh is an African electronic artist whose sound feels like both a memory
and a future you haven’t lived yet. Based in Johannesburg, he crafts what he
calls astral music — a meditative fusion of dark classical influences, ambient
textures, and ancestral African groove.
Recognized by DJ Mag as one of 2025’s Emerging Artists You Need to Hear
and featured in 1001Tracklists’ Future of Dance, Masšh embodies a new
wave of African modernism — spiritual, futuristic, and deeply human.

His rise began in 2021, when he was selected for the BridgeFire Talent
Accelerator at Constitution Hill’s historic Flame Studios, later composing the
full original score for African fashion house MaXhosa’s SS22 show — a
defining moment in the dialogue between fashion and electronic music.
In 2024, his collaboration “All I Got” with Adam Port (Keinemusik) and
vocalist Ninae became a global anthem, surpassing 14 million streams and
cementing his place among the genre’s vanguard. From DGTL India to
OFFSónar Barcelona, Zürich Music Week, and London’s E1, Masšh’s
performances blend intimacy and elevation, turning every stage into a
meditative experience. In every sense, he is building sound that lives beyond
the dance floor.
