Marcel Wierckx (NL)

An audiovisual composer and performer, Marcel Wierckx has established himself as a creative technologist, musician and producer in a wide range of activities, from contemporary dance with Chunky Move and anoukvandijkdc, to experimental jazz with Tin Men and the Telephone and Tony Roe, tech art installations with Matthias Oostrik, and historical music performance with OpenOor. His work transcends traditional labels of genre and technique, and each new project is an exploration of the limits of musical expression in a modern technological society. Wierckx is currently senior lecturer and researcher of Live Electronics and Immersive Music at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
