Lighter (NL)

Lighter is a one of Hollands UKG pioneers and a legend in his own right. Growing up in Noord Holland in the 80's and 90's, he started to buy hiphop and swingbeat and later got hooked to uk rave and breakbeat. A music form which turned into jungle / dnb. Next to playing jungle and drum 'n bass, he then noticed the underground garage sound emerging out of London and got involved from the early days as far back as 1996. Lighter pioneerd the uk underground garage sound all over Holland alongside other dj's such as Van Bellen and Groovemaster Johnson. Often alongside long time friend and one Hollands most famous mc's, mc Vin-E. He became famous for his mixing style and landed residencies at the biggest garage nights in the country, Speedfreax and Splendid, playing to massive crowds during the highlight of UKG culture from 1999 to 2003, earning the respect and love of fellow artists and fans alike. In 2004 he retired from Djing, only making a rare appearance every now and again since then. Now, That Garage Sound has brought him out of retirement for a very special vinyl only oldschool set which is sure to bring the house down and already one of the highlights on this years ADE calendar.
