Kid Sublime (NL)
Born into a Dutch family of artists and musicians, playing piano and drums since the age of 5 while listening to his grandfather’s Duke Ellington records, it was only natural for Jacob to give his life and heart to music at an early age.
After trying out an Akai MPC 60 in the late 90s, Kid Sublime got hooked to the machine and a few years later released his first house 12” ‘Tea For Two’ which got re-edited by Francois K.
Having released a number of singles on Rush Hour as part of the Rednose Distrikt Collective as well as an album on Kindred Spirits, Kid Sublime pursued a solo career and went on to work with a heap of amazing artists such as Lady Alma, Camp Lo, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Declaime, Recloose, Frank N Dank and more.
In recent years he teamed up with Georgian producer Misholino and keyboard protégé Beka Gochiachvili to create the Turbulance project, which became an underground broken beat classic released on the London CoOperation label.
He also started working a lot in the Amsterdam jazz and soul scene teaming up with local fusion band RADIOHOP. With a number of solo and collab projects yet to be released or in the works there’s a lot to look forward to!
